ABOUT THE WORK
Classic cardigan knitted top-down in 2 strands of cotton yarn (leftovers). First, the back is knitted, then the 2 fronts are knitted, and then the sleeves are knitted. Finally, the button bands and collar are knitted.
The pattern includes video guides for the techniques used.
FIT
The cardigan is designed with a small positive ease (movement space) of approx. 7 cm.
This provides a relatively close fit.
To choose the right size, use your own bust measurement and add 7 cm.
Example:
If your bust measurement is 90 cm --> 90 + 7 cm = 97 cm
→ You should therefore choose size S
If you are in doubt between two sizes, I recommend choosing the larger one for a more relaxed fit.
MATERIALS NEEDED
RECOMMENDED CIRCULAR NEEDLES
5 mm, 80 cm (for body) & 5 mm 40 cm (for sleeves)
and 3 mm, 60/80 cm (for collar and button bands)
GAUGE
16 stitches in stockinette stitch on 5 mm needles (or the needle size you need to achieve the gauge) = 10 cm
YARN CONSUMPTION
400 (450) 500 (550) 600 (650) 750 g 8/4 cotton yarn - knitted with 2 strands
10-15 buttons approx. 1 cm in diameter
Optional sewing needle for buttonhole stitch
