ABOUT THE PROJECT
Beginner hat is an easy and fun pattern that you will quickly finish. The pattern is written without abbreviations, with the new knitter in mind. There are video links to all techniques. The hat is knitted from the bottom up in rib. The entire piece is knitted on circular needles 8 mm | US 11.

First, you knit the hat's folded brim, then the rest of the hat. In the end, you turn the hat inside out and fold the brim up. This is done so the neat side of the cast-on edge faces outward along the brim.

FIT
Size 1 fits a head measurement of 52-58 cm | 20-22 inches   
Size 2 fits a head measurement of 59-65 cm | 23-25 inches

You can easily adjust the size by casting on 4 more or 4 fewer stitches (4 stitches correspond to about 4 cm | 1,5 inches).
Make adjustments in multiples of 4 stitches so the rib pattern remains consistent.

The ribbing makes the hat stretchy, so the finished measurements are smaller than your actual head circumference. The hat will also stretch with use, so keep that in mind when selecting a size.

YARN
The hat is knit using leftover yarn scraps. Consider the length of each yarn piece: the shorter the pieces, the more color changes you'll get in your hat. I switch between pieces up to 1 meter and as short as 15 cm | 6 inches
