ABOUT THE PROJECT
Difficulty level: Beginner / Intermediate
The Cute Collar Cardigan is a stylish cardigan with a high collar and crocheted button bands, giving it a touch of retro charm. It is worked top-down on size 10 mm needles, with raglan increases and purl rows along all edges.
The pattern is simple and straightforward, even for less experienced knitters, and with thick needles, it’s a quick project that you'll finish before you know it.
If you want to knit the cardigan using leftover yarn, check out my guide here.
Ease: approx. 10 cm. Measure your chest at its widest point and add 10 cm. Choose the size closest to your measurement, or size down for a snug fit, or size up for a more oversized look.
General tips for choosing yarn alternatives:
When selecting alternative yarns, it's important to knit a swatch to ensure you achieve the recommended gauge. If the yarn is slightly thinner or thicker, you can adjust by using more strands or changing your needle size.
Also, consider the texture and look of the yarn. Nepal has a firm structure, while Melody is soft and lightweight. If you want to maintain the airy feel, consider other lightweight yarns like mohair, blow yarn, or alpaca blends.

Is your yarn stock low - or does it just need a breath of fresh air? Then buy a Stopgarnspil package from Garnspecialisten, which sells deadstock and surplus yarn that would have been burned if they hadn't saved it.
