When I was about a year old, my family took in a stray kitten. I loved her like a sister, and we spoke to each other in our own language.

For me, the cat is a symbol of strength, independence and playfulness. It dares to be exactly as it is, and doesn't really care whether you like it or not. It is tenacious, brave, mysterious. And it is said to have nine lives.

When we embroider the cat here on our knitting, we can do it as a protective amulet that gives us some cat powers. Who wouldn't want to be a cat?
