ABOUT THE WORK
DIFFICULTY beginner/intermediate
The Lonely Buttons Cardigan is a simple cardigan with lots of buttons.
It is knitted top-down on 8 mm needles with raglan increases and short rows on the yoke. After that, the body and sleeves are knitted separately.
The cardigan has a short and fitted silhouette with extra long sleeves and a simple front closure, where the stitches act as buttonholes for various buttons.
The pattern is simple and clear, even for the less experienced knitter, and with thick needles, it's a quick project that will be finished before you know it.
Fit
The cardigan is designed to have a small amount of positive ease, approximately 5 cm, meaning it fits relatively close to the body.
Start by measuring yourself around the bust at the widest point, then compare this measurement with the cardigan's finished bust measurement.
- If you are between two sizes and want a more fitted cardigan, choose the smaller size.
- If you want a more classic fit with a little more room, choose the larger size.
Example: If you measure 94 cm around the bust, you are between sizes 90 cm and 98 cm.
Choose 90 cm for a more fitted look, or 98 cm for a more classic fit.

YARN ALTERNATIVES
The beige cardigan is knitted in a deadstock yarn from garnspecialisten.dk with a yardage of 110 m / 50 grams and a composition of 55% alpaca, 23% wool, and 22% polyamide. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find an identical yarn.
SUGGESTION 1
Add a strand of yarn with small nubs/flecks to the recommended yarn at the top of the pattern, e.g.:
Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes Garn
57% mohair, 28% silk, 15% wool
25 g / 210 m
Yarn usage:
50 (50) 75 (75) 100 (100) grams
SUGGESTION 2
Dale Multi Popkorn
54% alpaca, 30% polyamide, 16% wool
50 g / 135 m
The yarn has small nubs/flecks and gives a lively and rustic look. It should be knitted double to achieve the correct gauge.
Yarn usage with double strand:
250 (250) 300 (350) 400 (450) grams
SUGGESTION 3
Drops Air
65% alpaca, 28% polyamide, 7% wool
50 g / 150 m
The yarn is light, airy, and fluffy, giving the cardigan more volume and softness. However, it should be knitted together with another yarn.
Can be knitted together with:
1 strand Drops Air + 1 strand Dale Multi Popkorn
Drops Air:
150 (150) 150 (200) 200 (200) grams
Dale Multi Popkorn:
150 (150) 150 (200) 200 (250) grams
Or
1 strand Drops Air + 2 strands Tynn Silk Mohair
Drops Air:
150 (150) 150 (200) 200 (200) grams
Tynn Silk Mohair:
100 (100) 150 (150) 200 (200) grams
