ABOUT THE PATTERN
The Lyra Top is a close-fitting summer top with a simple knit and purl stitch pattern, giving it a fresh and playful look.
The top is worked top-down on 5 mm needles - or the needle size needed to achieve the correct gauge.
First, the back piece is worked back and forth down to the armhole. Then stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are worked separately. When the shoulders have the correct length, they are joined to form the front piece, which is worked back and forth down to the armhole. The front and back pieces are then joined, and the body is worked in the round to the desired length.
FIT
The top is designed with a close fit and has approximately 0-5 cm of positive ease.
Choose the size closest to your own bust measurement if you want the fit shown. If you prefer a looser look, you can choose a larger size.
The measurements given are for the finished top. Please note that cotton will stretch slightly with wear.
I am wearing size M with a bust measurement of 96 cm.
The Lyra Top is named after the main character Lyra from the book (and HBO series) His Dark Materials. A name that, to me, symbolizes adventure, curiosity, and the courage to explore new worlds.
