MATERIALS

Circular needles:
5 mm, 60 or 40 cm length (for the collar)
6 mm, 80 cm length (for the body)
or the needle size needed to achieve the correct gauge

Gauge:

14 stitches in stockinette stitch on 6 mm needles = 10 cm

Yarn suggestion:

300–900 g of any yarn scraps you have on hand.

You can combine as many strands as you like and adjust your needle size to meet the gauge.

Chest circumference (approx.): 92, 100, 107, 114, 121, 128 cm

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Perfect Tee — as I (modestly) named it — has a boxy fit with wide sleeves. It's designed to be an easy and straightforward knit, worked from the bottom up in stockinette stitch.

The body is knitted in the round and then divided at the armholes, after which the front and back pieces are finished separately. The sleeve stitches are picked up along the armhole and worked outward. The ribbing at the body and sleeves is worked on 6 mm needles, while the neckline ribbing is worked on 5 mm needles.

The measurements listed above are the finished garment measurements. The T-shirt is intended to have a slight positive ease of approx. 7–10 cm. For reference, my chest circumference is 98 cm, and I knitted a size 3.
