Oversize cardigan with beautiful texture and polo collar – knitted top-down
First, the back is knitted back and forth with increases for the armholes. The front pieces are then knitted by picking up stitches along the cast-on edge of the back. Increases for the neck and armholes are made on the front pieces. Then the front and back pieces are joined and knitted back and forth. Next, stitches are picked up for the sleeves, which are knitted in the round. Then stitches are picked up along the neck for the polo collar, and finally, the button bands are knitted.
Materials needed
Suggested circular needles 9 mm 60/80 cm long (for body, sleeves, and collar) & 7 mm, 40/60 cm long (for button bands and ribbing along sleeves)
Gauge 12 stitches in pattern on 9 mm needles (or the needle size needed to achieve gauge) = 10 cm
