ABOUT THE PROJECT
Shelly Top is named after the beautiful shells we find at the shore, and after Barbie's little sister Shelly, who I always thought was much cooler than Barbie.

The top is a cross between a t-shirt and a vest. It has small, delicate sleeves and the neckline is finished with a rolled edge.

The top is knitted with a simple structure, consisting of knit and purl stitches, all in all it gives a fresh and playful look, for which I think Shelly was the perfect name.

Shelly Top is knitted from the top down on needle size 10 - or the needle you need to reach the knitting tension!

The small sleeves are shaped with circular needles. The collar is made by finally picking up stitches along the neckline.

Positive ease
The top is intended to have a positive ease of approximately 15 cm.

The measurements given are the finished measurements of the piece. You can choose a size below your own bust measurement and get a tight-fitting version, or you can choose a larger size and get an oversized top.

YARN 
I have used a mix of 4-5 different types of yarn. I have chosen a relatively airy yarn like Drops Air, but also stronger yarns like Drops Snow. Throughout the work I have knitted with 2 threads - for example 2 threads Drops Air, or a Drops Snow together with a thin yarn that fits on needles 2.5 / 3mm. I have also used boucle yarn together with a thinner thread and brushed alpaca.
