ABOUT THE PATTERN
A modern, close-fitting blouse with a boat neckline.
An easy-to-follow pattern with a thorough introduction to raglan increases and short rows.
The Easy Mohair Blouse is a simple, modern wardrobe staple designed to sit close to the body with a light, feminine look. The blouse features a boat neckline, slim sleeves and a fit that makes it easy to style for both everyday wear and more dressed-up occasions.
This pattern is written with brand-new knitters in mind. The blouse is worked top down with raglan increases and short rows, and you are guided carefully through both techniques along the way. The pattern includes clear explanations of raglan shaping and short rows, as well as video tutorials for all techniques, so you can always see how things are done.
The blouse is worked with two strands of silk mohair. It is designed as a perfect first mohair project and as a gentle introduction to knitting garments that feel like “real clothes” – even if you are still new to knitting.
In short, The Easy Mohair Blouse is for anyone who wants to learn new techniques while ending up with a finished piece they will want to wear again and again.
FIT / EASE
The blouse is designed to fit close to the body and therefore has minimal ease. Choose the size closest to your own chest measurement if you want the fitted look shown on the model.
The pink blouse is shown in size S, and the designer’s chest measurement is 96 cm / 37¾ inches.
For a more classic or slightly looser fit, choose one size larger.
How to measure yourself:
Measure around the fullest part of your chest while standing relaxed. Measure directly on the body or over a thin top – not over thick clothing. Compare your measurement to the finished measurements of the blouse and choose the size that matches your desired fit.
