ABOUT THE WORK

BEGINNERS' BLOUSE is designed for beginners who want to knit their first raglan sweater from the top down. The pattern is simple, and focuses on making the knitting process easy and accessible, with instructions and videos for all the necessary techniques. The first few pages go through the pattern and the techniques used. This is followed by the pattern itself. If you are an experienced knitter, you can skip the introduction and go straight to the pattern.

The pattern contains no abbreviations. Everything is written clearly so you don't have to worry about understanding complex knitting terms.

If you want to knit the blouse from yarn scraps, check out my guide here.

Movement space: Approx. 10 cm. Measure yourself at the widest point of your chest and add 10 cm to your measurement. Choose the size that is closest to your measurements or go down one size for a tighter fit, or up one size for a looser oversized knit.

YARN ALTERNATIVES

General tips for choosing yarn alternatives:

When choosing yarn alternatives, it is important to do a swatch to ensure you achieve the same gauge as recommended in the pattern. If the yarn is a little thinner or thicker, you can adjust with more strands or choose a different needle size.

Also consider the texture and look of the yarn. Nepal has a firm structure, while Melody is soft and fluffy. If you want to maintain the airy feel, consider other fluffy yarns like mohair or alpaca blends.

Alternatives to Drops Nepal:
Drops Nepal is a wool and alpaca blend, the recommended needle is 5mm, so look for other yarns that fit needle 5. Here are some good alternatives (you must choose one from each category to hit the knitting tension):

Sandnes Yarn - Kos
Filcolana - Peruvian Highland Wool
Rowan - Felted Tweed Aran
Drops - Air

Alternatives to Drops Melody:
Sandnes Garn - Brushed Alpaca
Lang Yarns - Alpaca Superlight
Isager - Silk Mohair
Filcolana - Tilia

Begynderblusen.

Meget glad for Frejas begynderbluse.
