ABOUT THE WORK
The Solstice Sweater is worked from the top down using raglan increases. Start out by working 2 purl rounds, followed by working the rest of the yoke stockinette stitch except for the purl stitches around the raglan increases. The yarn overs create a lovely eyelet lace pattern along the raglan increases on the yoke. The body and sleeves are finished separately and worked with chunky rib hems, knitted worked through the back loop. The sleeves are extra-long to fit a thumb hole near the hem. The rib hem on the body is split and the back piece is worked longer than the front. Finish up by using 5 mm (US 8) needles to pick up stitches along the neckline and worked the collar.

The pattern contains no abbreviations. Everything is written out clearly so you do not have to worry about understanding complex knitting terms.

Solstice marks the moment when the sun reaches its highest and lowest point in the sky, occurring both during summer and winter. It indicates when the light turns whether to increase or decrease the hours of sunlight.

Positive ease
The sweater is intended to be worked with approx. 10 cm | 4 in of positive ease at the bust. Make sure to measure the widest point around your bust and add 10 cm | 4 inches to find your size. You can choose a size below your chest measurement for a tighter fit or a larger size for an oversized fit.

General tips on choosing yarn alternatives:

When using yarn alternatives, it is important to always create a swatch to ensure you achieve the recommended gauge in the pattern. If the yarn is different from the recommended, you can adjust the gauge by adding more strands or adjust the needle size.
