About the work
Difficulty: BEGINNER
The Beginner Blouse Summer Crush is a summer version of the popular The Beginner Blouse series, designed for new knitters, who want to knit their first raglan sweater top down. The pattern is simple and focuses on making the knitting process easy and accessible, why I have included video instructions for all the necessary techniques. The first few pages explain the pattern and the techniques used. The pattern is placed after these instructions. If you are an experienced knitter, you may skip the introduction and go directly to the pattern.
WORKFLOW
Start by casting on stitches for the neckline and work the collar on 3,5 mm | US 4 needles, then you change to 4 mm | US 6 needles and work the yoke by increasing along the raglan lines. After the yoke is done, it is divided into the body and the sleeves, which are finished with rib edges.
The pattern contains no abbreviations. Everything is written out clearly so you do not have to worry about understanding complex knitting terms.
If you want to use scrap yarn for the blouse, feel free to look at my “how to” guide here.
Positive ease and fit: The tee is meant to have a positive ease of approx. 10 cm | 4 inches. Make sure to measure the widest point around your bust and add 10 cm | 4 inches to find your size. You can choose a size below your chest measurement for a tighter fit or a larger size for an oversized fit.
YARN ALTERNATIVES
General tips on choosing yarn alternatives:
When using yarn alternatives it is important to always create a swatch to ensure you achieve the recommended gauge in the pattern. If the yarn is different from the recommended, you can adjust the gauge by adding more strands or adjust the needle size.
Be sure to pick yarn with the same yardage as suggested in the pattern – you can ask your local yarn shop for advice.
Here are a couple of examples of yarn with similar yardage as what I have used in the pattern:
Wool
Double Sunday by Sandnes
Puna by Drops
Cotton
Belle by Drops
2 strands 8 / 4 cotton yarn held together

Is your yarn stock low - or does it just need a breath of fresh air? Then buy a Stopgarnspil package from Garnspecialisten, which sells deadstock and surplus yarn that would have been burned if they hadn't saved it.
Jeg er meget glad for at jeg er faldet over denne bluse
Opskriften er rigtig nem at følge👍🏻
BEGYNDER BLUSEN, LIGHT
Str passer perfekt
Let forståelig opskrift, nem at følge. Blusen har ligesom den langærmede udgave det fedeste ‘raglan mønster’.
